As the needs of the QA department were made known to me, and as I became more familiar with departmental procedures, I realized that our intranet site had tremendous potential to be used as a workflow tool. I worked closely with the IT department to introduce SharePoint technologies to Quality Assurance, and after a few trial months, it became a daily part of QA processes. SharePoint provided many solutions for the department in terms of security, document sharing, issue tracking, scheduling, and user input. And because SharePoint is a service, all I had to do was design a friendlier interface for users, and the rest pretty much took care of itself. I am still the SharePoint administrator in my department, and I'm spearheading the effort to introduce SharePoint as a company-wide solution.
